VoIP Project Celebrates the Halfway Point | tidBITS

ITS is pleased to announce that last Wednesday, 480 more telephones on the UNBF campus were moved over to the new VoIP telephone system. With these migrations complete, the project has reached the halfway mark for providing faculties and departments with fully integrated email and voicemail, a UNB phone directory right on their phones, significant cost savings, and more.

Check out what Tina Madore from Communications & Marketing had to say about her migration to VoIP and experience with the new telephone service:

?I thought the VoIP project was implemented in the correct manner; by introducing it in different phases.? Doing this gave the team a chance to work through the bugs and to correct any issues that may have appeared. My new VoIP phone is very easy to use, especially with the university switchboard and for the number of calls that come through for different departments, faculties and staff members.?

Still to come, Phase 3 of the VoIP migrations are scheduled for late February 2013 and will include the following departments and faculties:

All remaining departments and faculties will be migrated as the rest of UNB?s network becomes ready. Details on these migrations will be communicated in the months to come.
