'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' Trailer No. 2
Wordless, gritty and undeniably eerie, the first trailer for the American movie adpatation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was the perfect tease. Its series of quickly flashing images set to Karen O and Trent Reznor's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" left viewers with a palpable sense of tension and more than a bit of anticipation for the film's Dec. 21 release. That said, the video revealed little in the way of plot, and so may have had those unfamiliar with Stieg Larsson's best-selling Millennium book series scratching their head. Well, the long-awaited second trailer is here to remedy that, boasting nearly four minutes of here's-what-the-movie-is-about awesomeness. Watch the trailer below!
This time around, viewers are treated to a whole lot of (a shockingly transformed) Rooney Mara's Lisbeth Salander, a.k.a. Ms. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo herself. Described by her boss (Goran Visjnic) as "different in every way," Salander is a heavily pierced and tattooed, mohawk-sporting hacker with a photographic memory who teams up with disgraced journalist Mikhael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) to try to crack a 40-year-old mystery.
Unlike its predecessor, this trailer reveals a lot -- Lisbeth's sexual trauma, Blomkvist's professional woes and the reason the prestigious Vanger family hires him to look into a decades-old cold case -- but still manages to capture the book's sense of mounting foreboding. In other words, we can't wait for the self-proclaimed "feel-bad movie of Christmas" to arrive.

NEW YORK (AP) ? Tony Bennett apologized Wednesday for suggesting the United States provoked the 9/11 attacks, saying he was only expressing his feelings as a pacifist when he made the comments during an interview on Howard Stern's radio show.
"There is simply no excuse for terrorism and the murder of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims of the 9/11 attacks on our country," the 85-year-old crooner said in a written statement. "I am sorry if my statements suggested anything other than an expression of my love for my country, my hope for humanity and my desire for peace throughout the world."
On Monday, Bennett told Stern that the attacks by al-Qaida were linked to U.S. aggression.
"Are we the terrorists? Or are they the terrorists? Two wrongs don't make a right," he said on the show. "They flew the plane in. But we caused it. We were bombing them, and they told us to stop."
Bennett said Wednesday that he was proud to have fought for American values in World War II but had come to deplore violence.
"My life experiences ? ranging from the Battle of the Bulge to marching with Martin Luther King ? made me a lifelong humanist and pacifist, and reinforced my belief that violence begets violence and that war is the lowest form of human behavior," Bennett said.

Rundown bridge becomes emblem for Obama's jobs push (Reuters)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) ? A dilapidated bridge over the Ohio River becomes the latest prop in President Barack Obama's push for jobs on Thursday as he takes a campaign for more spending into the backyard of his political foes.
The Brent Spence Bridge, connecting the home states of the two top Republicans in Congress, is a vital traffic route between northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio.
But the 830-foot (253-meter) span has been officially designated as "functionally obsolete" and Obama hopes it will help him illustrate why Congress should back billions of dollars in job-creating infrastructure investment.
Obama, a Democrat, wants Congress to pass a $447 billion jobs bill he unveiled this month to kick-start growth and hiring essential to improving his hopes for re-election in November 2012.
A majority of Americans disapprove of his handling of the economy, and his opinion poll numbers have slumped over worries that the country could slip back into recession.
Obama's visit to Cincinnati, to an event within view of the bridge, is his latest trip to drum up support among voters around the country for his plan to spur job creation by cutting taxes and modernizing crumbling infrastructure.
It also continues a White House offensive to sharpen his campaign message that Republicans care more about shielding the rich from higher taxes than making important investments.
On Monday the president vowed to protect federal health and retirement programs from budget deficit cuts unless lawmakers also agree to raise taxes on the rich.
That pledge was aimed at rallying Obama supporters worried that he has not fought hard enough to safeguard Democratic Party values during months of budget fights with Republicans.
That drew a key election battle line between spending and taxes that Obama will emphasize in Cincinnati.
Linking Kentucky, the home state of Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell, with House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner's Ohio, the 47-year-old bridge funnels traffic from two interstate highways and suffers from overcrowding.
It opened to traffic in November 1963, a few days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but the volume of traffic it handles each day has exploded and it has been on the list for renovation for years.
Engineers concluded in 1995 that it should be replaced by 2007 and an investigation by the Cincinnati Enquirer found the chances of a traffic accident on the bridge were five times higher than on the region's highways.
Boehner and McConnell, who have both been guarded toward Obama's jobs proposals, view his trip as a political 'stunt.'
"We want to work with the President to support job creation, but political stunts and empty promises bring us no closer to finding common ground," said Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck.
